I am an interdisciplinary artist, early-career researcher, and digital arts lecturer whose practice leverages various new, or cutting-edge technologies to craft experimental forms of audio-visual storytelling and experience. My previous work, often created with synthetic media, have examined themes such as the singularity, homogenisation, corporate influence, and the wellbeing of future generations. More recently, my practice-based research explores intergenerational and transgenerational memory, reflecting on cultural, ancestral, and folk histories through audio-visual works that integrate field recordings, environmental sound, film and generative processes. I have participated in numerous exhibitions, events, and research-led conferences focused on digital arts and technology, contributing to ongoing dialogues about the role of emerging technologies in contemporary art and culture. I am a Aesthetica Art Prize 2025 nominee for my collaborative experimental spoken word film Time Pops Like Chewing Gum. My ongoing work seeks to evoke complex emotional responses and foster new modes of collective reflection through iterative, technology-driven artistic practice. Currently I am a resident artist at the Centre for Art, Science and Sustainability - Drawing Out Hilbre Project 01, part of the Independents Biennial 2025 & Archipelago Arts and Hilbre Community Land Trust - 2025.
With over 17 years of experience working with and supporting young people and artists in various forms of education including KS2 - KS5, foundation qualifications, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, I have a broad range of experience to support learners at various levels. Previous roles have included programme leader for the nationally recognised and successful Games Art undergraduate degree at Nottingham Trent University’s school Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies. Currently I am module leader for Concept Art and Games Art Colabs, I am also an integral teaching member of the modules 2D and Experimental Art, Games for Good and our school wide transdisciplinary module Colabs. Throughout my career I have been nominated and shortlisted for several student and staff led teaching awards, with recognised success in supporting both students and early-career teachers. My teaching encompasses a wide spectrum of visual arts topics and skills, with a primary emphasis on the core principles of art and design as they relate to commercial practice and games art; however, my passion extends to exploring art’s significance and the vital role creativity plays in the human condition.
